Mahmood "Mems" Carim
Chairman
Mahmood is the
vice-chairperson for
Honorary
Rangers
Johannesburg South Region. Joined the Honorary Rangers in April
2007. An IT. Manager by profession, has qualifications in
Electrical Engineering, IT and Business Management. Currently
studying to become a field guide. Loves the outdoors and
photography.

Farouk Hassen
Vice
Chairman
Farouk Hassen, is the projects
coordinator for the
Honorary Rangers Johannesburg South Region. Joined the Honorary Rangers in
22 May 2007. He is in the construction business and enjoys
wildlife, the great outdoors, camping and fishing.

Ashraf Sayed
Secretary
Ashraf Sayed
first attempted to join Honorary Rangers was back in
February 1990 at the age of 19. The response from the then
National Parks Board was that he was too young and should
re-apply once 25. In February 1998, he joined the Bushveld
Region whilst based in Phalaborwa. On 31 January 2001 he
relocated back to Johannesburg whereupon he transferred his
HR membership to the Johannesburg region. It was in 2001 and
then in 2003 that the idea of starting a region in the South
of Johannesburg was born with the aim of taking the
conservation message back to his home town. In this time he
has served as an Honorary Ranger on the following National
Projects: Counter Poaching (now Ranger Support Services and
PEAP), Veterinary Wildlife Services (previously Game
Capture), Bushcamp committee, National Quiz, served on the
National Executive Committee for 2 years, served as Vice
Chairman of the Johannesburg Region, Chairman of
Johannesburg South region and is now the Secretary of the
Johannesburg South Region.
Ashraf enjoys the outdoors and is a keen a birdwatcher,
scuba diver, has backpacked extensively across South Africa,
enjoys 4x4 overland travel and visiting remote destinations,
rock climbing, plays cricket and is a qualified Trails
Guide. Ashraf is a Quantity Surveyor and is currently a
Procurement Manager at a mining house. |

Mohsin
Ismail
Marketing and Communications
Mohsin
Ismail, a Graphic Designer/ DTP Operator by profession.
Currently employed at Net1 Applied Technologies South Africa
Limited. Mohsin joined the Honorary Rangers in February 2008. He
is responsible for the design and maintenance of the Honorary
Rangers Johannesburg South Region Website. Mohsin enjoys the outdoors,
has a passion for fishing, photography and wildlife.

Yusuf Dockrat
Yusuf Dockrat is the secretary for the Honorary Rangers
Johannesburg South Region.
He
has a passion for wildlife and would like to contribute to
the conservation and preservation of wildlife, enjoys slot
car racing, outdoor activities, travel, reading, movies.
Employed as a Team Leader, for arivia.kom, Joined the
Honorary
Rangers
Johannesburg South
in June 2008. Yusuf is also involved in community projects such as Lenasia Going Green (LEGG) which is forum that looks at
environmental issues in Lenasia. Yusuf also runs a community
website called
www.lenzinfo.org.za which publishes news, events,
sports, etc for the Lenasia community. He has been involved
in work with the Lenasia Muslim Association (LMA) for over
20 years.

Haroon Pochee has been appointed as

Faizel Essop
Faizal Essop is working as an
internal audit manager at Standard Bank. Completed his articles
at BDO Spencer Steward. Highest qualification obtained is my
Bcom: Honours in Accounting. His
goal is to be a chartered accountant. His personal interests:
Extreme adventure sports and adrenaline junkie, reading, gym,
movies and touring. He loves nature, wildlife and the outdoors.
He is keen to contribute to the conservation and preservation of
wildlife, flora and fauna and the social and environmental
aspects of the community. Faizel was appointed as a HR in March
2008.

Zubair Carim Joined the Honorary Rangers in

Yaaseen
Bismilla joined the Honorary Rangers Johannesburg South Region
in August 2007. A 2nd year B.Com Logistics student at UNISA.
Other volunteer organisations include: SAPS Reservist and
JMPD Traffic warden. Loves wildlife, nature conservation and
having a jol.

Yumna Raheman
Yumna Raheman,
joined the Honorary Rangers Johannesburg South Region in
June 2008, has an appreciation for wildlife and outdoors.
She would like to educate and make the public aware of the
type of facilities available at SANParks and simultaneously
educate them, as to how they can contribute to the
sustainability of nature. She would love to add Bungee
jumping and Game Ranging to her list of achievements. Yumna
is currently employed at Standard Bank as a Debt Counsellor
